Welcome To OSAS Marc & Bugsy
OSAS is pleased to welcome Marc Et Master and Masseno (aka Bugsy) to our program. The two geldings, aged five and three respectively, are now in foster care at the farm of Susan and Bert Mollica who do tremendous work in training and preparing OSAS horses for their permanent homes.
Marc Et Master is freshly off the track having last competed on Monday night at Western Fair. He finishes his career with just over $57,000 in earnings from 92 lifetime trips behind the gate. He is a son of Marced Card, a winner of more than $400,000, while his dam, Lifes Image, earned over $115,000 in her career. That daughter of Life Sign only made 10 starts in her career, but she had one big victory during her three-year-old season when she nosed out the great Glowing Report to win the $200,000 Miss New Jersey at the Meadowlands.
Also in Marc’s immediate family is the top race mare Sweet Reflection who earned over a million dollars in her career more than three decades ago. She has an interesting connection to OSAS as her driver was none other than Hall of Famer and OSAS director Bill O’Donnell.
Marc’s stablemate at the Mollica farm is Masseno, a three-year-old Muscle Mass gelding who was trained and co-owned by Julie Walker. He made a total of four starts before retirement, the last being at Mohawk last month. Julie and her dad Paul bred Masseno who is the second foal from the Credit Winner mare Tomorrows Dream. The second dam in this family is O’Brien Award winner Mombasa who Paul trained to earnings over $400,000 for Eileen and Bill Stuart. Mombasa’s last foal was Tomorrows Dream, while her first was another O’Brien winner Filly At Bigs ($800,000+).
